Longrigg Woodland Loch Sunart

After a lengthy period of planning, negotiation and fund-raising, the Sunart Community Company has successfully purchased Longrigg Woodland.

Longrigg Woodland is now managed on behalf of the community.

As the independent consultants who carried out the initial feasibility study noted, ‘Community ownership will not only safeguard this asset for the community enabling them to fulfil many aspirations, in addition, through the restructuring of the woodland, it will enhance the local environment improving the landscape, increasing biodiversity and eventually linking the woodland with other habitat networks.”

We’re developing a new Woodland Management Plan for Longrigg, and this is your chance to help shape its future.

How should the woodland be managed? What matters most to you? Your input will help guide decisions and make sure the plan reflects the needs and priorities of our community.
