Sunart Community Benefit Fund
About the Fund
Since 2016, we have distributed funding to local projects across the Sunart area, supporting everything from youth activities and cultural events to woodland restoration and community buildings. As of April 2026 we have awarded over £332,000 to groups and organisations across the community, and we are proud to see that investment growing year on year.
Our funder
The fund is made possible through the operation of Sunart Community Renewables (established by the Sunart Community Company), which manages the community hydro scheme. All profits from the scheme are reinvested in community initiatives via the Sunart Community Benefit Fund.
Our panel
The Sunart Community Benefit Fund panel gives their time voluntarily to review applications, make funding decisions and ensure the money reaches the projects that need it most. Their local knowledge, dedication and care for the community are at the heart of everything this fund achieves. We extend our sincere thanks to every panel member, past and present, for their contribution.
