Oakwood Tourism and Crafts

Oakwood has had a fantastic first year, which has only been possible because of the hard work and enthusiasm of our volunteers and talented producers! A huge thankyou to everyone who has helped make it such a success and so much fun!! We are organising a range of events on the lead up to Christmas and have some wonderful presents for all the family! Locally produced Christmas decorations, cards and seasonal gifts will be appearing soon too! #buylocal!

Loch Group Developments

The Sunart Community Company Loch Group have been meeting over the last couple of years. After much work, the Company, on behalf of the local community and as suggested by the Community Council, has acquired the ‘Green Tin Shed’, adjacent carpark and soon the lease on the slipway and jetty. The Loch Group would like to invite you to a public meeting 4th November 7.30pm in the village hall. The purpose of the meeting is to share ideas and discuss the development of these assets and to suggest what their future roles could be for our community. We are keen to hear any ideas you may have! What should be done with the green shed? Refurbish? Information point? Changing room for open water swimmers? Let us know your thoughts! If you are unable to attend and wish to contribute ideas, then please email Izzy or John Jones.

Sunart Community Benefit Fund

SCBF are RECRUITING! Our fund panel has been in place now for almost three years and has allocated over 90,000 pounds! The Panel meet twice a year and have the responsibility of discussing the allocation of Community Funds through the SCBF.

If you would like your name to be dropped into the hat for this year’s election at the SCC Christmas Auction, please let Izzy know and she will give you a form!

Annual Christmas Auction

This will take place on 30th November! This is a great chance to pick up some wonderful Christmas goodies, raise funds for the community at the same time and of course it is always a great night out!
