AGM Update – Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our recent AGM. We are pleased to announce our newly named committee roles:
- John Jones has been voted in as Chair, after many years as a longstanding committee member and Secretary of Sunart Community Company—thank you, John, for your dedication!
- Paul Sharples has stepped down as Chair, but remains a Sunart Community Company Director – thank you to Paul for his hard work over the years as Chair.
- Laura Cameron-Macgregor, the driving force behind our social events, including the Hogmanay Party and Christmas Auction, is now Vice Chair.
- Nick Brooks is stepping into the role of Secretary.
- James Hilder has stepped down as Treasurer but remains a Director—thank you, James, for all of your hard work over the years.
- Alison Gainsford has joined as our new Treasurer.
- Neil Mellis, who many will remember as auctioneer at the Christmas Auction and bartender at the Hogmanay Party, has also joined as Director
- Rowena Henderson, Sarah Traynor, and Hollie Taylor, continue as Sunart Community Company Directors this year
Longrigg Update
We are pleased to announce that Scottish Woodlands has been appointed as the Harvesting Manager for Longrigg Woodland. We are will soon be recruiting a Project Coordinator to help liaise with the Harvesting Manager and the local community—keep an eye out for our advert, going live on social media and the website soon!
Our committee has already started repairing sections of the fence line within the woodland, and we are looking for volunteers to help out at our Longrigg Working Parties. These usually take place on the third Sunday of every month.

Sunart Community Benefit Fund – Spring Grant Round Now Open
Our Spring grant round is now open for applications from local community groups and projects. Recent funding recipients include:
- Sunart Craft Hub
- Longrigg Woodland
Ardnamurchan Childcare Action Group (a subcommittee of Urram)
If your group or project could benefit from funding, you can apply now!

Bridge Repair – Lower Bridge Reopens!
The Upper Bridge over the River Strontian in the Ariundle Oakwoods has now been repaired, and is open after being closed for due to structural issues. Huge thanks to ACT Heritage for making this possible!

Paths Update
Another footpath maintenance session took place in partnership with Lochaber Countryside Rangers on 2nd February. A massive thank you to all the incredible volunteers who helped out—the Ardnastaing Beach footpath is looking so much better!
