Following our successful joint funding bid with Urram, we have been working together to deliver a series of Wednesday craft workshops. So far, these have included a clay poppy workshop, Christmas decorations, Christmas wreath making, nature journalling, and mandala stone art, with great feedback from participants, making them a real success.
Keep an eye on Facebook, De Tha Dol and noticeboards for details of our upcoming workshops, which will include crocheting a hat, wildflower lanterns, mosaic art, and a ceramics workshop. The workshops are being held in the Strontian Craft Hub/Mens Shed but they will also be going on the road to other communities on the peninsula the first one is the 24th February in Acharacle.
Sarah and Annie are really enjoying delivering these workshops to the community and are currently planning a wide range of creative sessions over the next two years.Â
SCC is also excited to share that the Men’s Shed is nearly ready to open. A small amount of electrical work remains to be completed, along with tool organisation and an inventory. Once this is finished, we’ll be launching some Men’s Shed workshops, with more details coming soon.
In addition, we are awaiting the outcome of a funding bid to create an exciting new social space alongside the workshop, so there’s plenty to look forward to over the coming months.
