One of the key topics raised during our 2023 community consultation, was the importance of improving Sunart’s footpaths.
Following the consultation, the Sunart Community Company and Lochaber Countryside Rangers (Highlife Highland), joined forces to organise monthly sessions to improve our local pathways. We were delighted to have such a fantastic turnout for the first Village Paths Working Group in April.
Every month since, we have had large numbers of dedicated local volunteers don their gardening gloves and join us, rain or shine.
Thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers for taking the time out of their Sundays to spruce up our village paths, many of which are looking great now!
Eilidh-Ann, Lochaber Countryside Ranger, shared her thoughts on the success of the volunteer sessions: “It has been fantastic to see so many willing volunteers come along to our first few footpath sessions. Many hands really do make light work! I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve over the coming months.”
Some of the pathways we have been working on include: ‘The Back Road’ footpath between the Fire Station and the Church Bridge.
